Making the most of your money

We know that sometimes managing your money can be a daunting task, but we are here to help!

We can make sure you can access the help and advice you may need to budget your money or pay your rent or bills.

Benefits entitlement

We can help you to check what benefits you may be entitled to and help you claim for these as well. If your benefits have changed because of the welfare reform we can help with that too.

Budgeting your money

We will help you make your money go further by helping you to 'maximise' your income. By doing this, it will help make your rent more affordable, and, ensuring your rent payments are kept up-to-date it will be one less debt for you to worry about.

We will also help you access budgeting tools so you can manage your finances more efficiently. The Money Advice Service has a great free online budget planner which you can use to help make your money last longer.

Help with debt

We can also help you to manage any existing debts so you can make paying your rent a priority. If you have more complex issues such as multiple debts, we can refer you to your local money advice service.

Help with savings

We can advise you on setting up saving accounts or affordable loans through credit unions. Credit unions offer low cost affordable loans and simple ways to save, and even if you haven’t been able to get credit through high street or online banks and building societies, you can access an account through a credit union.

Help with paying your rent

We will also help you if you are struggling to pay your rent. We can make an arrangement with you to let you pay any rent arrears you may have in instalments.
